VIDEO TO DVD
We can transfer most types of video tapes to DVD. Tape formats we handle include: DVCAM, MiniDV, Hi8, Video 8 and VHS. If you have another format, please contact us. Once on DVD, we can easily make any number of additional DVD copies quickly and inexpensively.
Tapes up to 60 minutes long: £15.00 per tape
Tapes up to 90 minutes long: £18.00 per tape
Tapes up to 120 minutes long: £20.00 per tape
Tapes up to 180 minutes long: £25.00 per tape
Tapes up to 240 minutes long: £35.00 per tape
Additional DVD copies cost just £3 each. Discounts available for 10 or more copies.
The above durations are based on the length of the recording on the tape, not the tape’s designated length. For example, a 60 minute recording on a 3 hour (E180 min) tape will cost £15 not £25.
We accept the following formats: DVCAM, MiniDV, Hi8, Video8, VHS (full size) VHS-C (compact size)
We do not accept tapes that are damaged, jammed or contain mould. Mould affects mainly VHS tapes and can be seen as a white substance on the tape itself.
DVD recording quality
Although we can transfer up to 5 hours of video onto one DVD, we would not recommend more than 3 hours as the picture quality can be considerably reduced. In most cases the picture quality on the DVD will be similar to the original tape.
Tapes are normally copied to DVD without any editing or alteration, however we do offer an optional editing service where we can remove unwanted scenes, add music, titles and various effects, brighten underexposed shots and a whole lot more. To do this, your tape(s) are copied to computer leaving your original tape completely unaltered. Please contact us for more information and prices.
DVDs for use in USA, Canada and Japan
The DVDs we make are recorded in the UK’s PAL TV standard, so in some cases they will not be playable in the above countries as they have a different TV standard to ours called NTSC. However, we can make DVD NTSC copies of your tapes at an additional cost, so please contact us for details.
VIDEO TO CD
We can transfer up to one hour of video onto a CD-R. The quality (MPEG-1) isn’t as good as DVD and it’s only intended for viewing on a computer, but it’s an ideal medium for bringing video into a PowerPoint presentation, or for inclusion on a CD ROM containing many different files for distribution to clients or others within your organisation. Please contact us for prices.
Delivery & collection
You can either post your tapes to us, or deliver them in person. If posting, we strongly recommend using either Recorded or Special Delivery. If delivering, please call to make an appointment first. Your completed job can either be collected or posted. Prices do not include return postage and packing.
You can pay by cash, online/telephone banking or cheque. Minimum value for cheque payments is £30 and will require five working days to clear. We do not currently accept credit or debit cards. A deposit will be required and the balance will be payable upon completion.
All prices are subject to change without notice. Please phone or email for a specific quote.
