1-1/2 LB. MUSHROOMS

3 T. BUTTER

SAUTE UNTIL JUST BEGINNING TO SMELL LIKE MUSHROOMS. JUICY IS OK.

MIX IN WITH MUSHROOMS THE FOLLOWING:
1/2 C. CHOPPED GREEN PEPPER\

1/2 C. CHOPPED ONION

1/2 C. CHOPPED CELERY.

1/2 C. MAYONNAISE (REAL)

3/4 TSP. SALT

1/4 TSP. PEPPER

CUBE FOUR SLICES OF FIRM, BUTTERED BREAD AND SPREAD IN CASSEROLE DISH.

POUR THE VEGETABLE MIXTURE ON TOP.

 


 

 

 


CUBE FOUR MORE SLICES OF BUTTERED BREAD AND SPREAD THAT ON VEGETABLE MIXTURE.

BEAT 2 EGGS WITH 1-1/2 C. HALF AND HALF
POUR OVER ALL. CHILL AT LEAST FOUR HOURS IF NOT OVERNIGHT.
OVEN 350o

ONE-PLUS HOUR BEFORE SERVING, SPOON 1 CAN CAMPBELL'S MUSHROOM SOUP OVER ALL.
TOP WITH 3 SLICES OF BUTTERED BREAD CUBED SMALL.

BAKE 1 TO 1-1/2 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE DEPTH OF YOUR CASSEROLE DISH.

10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM OVEN, SPRINKLE 1/2 C. GRATED CHEDDAR CHEESE OVER TOP.
